About Me
I am a 27 years old Aries and currently live in Savannah, GA with my Fiancé, Len. We share our home with our 4 cats, Cornelius, Nelson, Forrest, and Marceline (I know, crazy cat lady in the making), and also, my 8-year-old…rabbit, QuiQui. I work in the various surrounding counties and received my Bachelors of Science in Psychology with a Minor in Child and Family Development from the University of Georgia in 2011. Go Dawgs! Since then I have been employed through a private mental health agency in Southeast Georgia. Through this agency I have worked closely with DFCS, different schools, families, and other agencies throughout a variety of different counties. I have transported, provided Parent-Aid, other WRAP-around services, IFI services, and I am now currently working in our CORE program providing CSI services to foster children ages 3-18. Since getting my Bachelors I have always known that I want to work with children and their families and through furthering my education I hope to gain more knowledge, experience, and preparation for my career. Since I am the Para-professional on my CORE team, I feel at times that I am still very ignorant to what goes in to helping others in the counseling field and I feel that I am constantly just playing it by ear and learning as I go. Although I do have a great support system at home and a job that gives good feedback, I would like more concrete evidence that I am learning what I am supposed to be learning and doing what I am supposed to be doing since I do not work in a conventional office and instead drive around the low country to all my clients by myself and conduct the sessions alone most of the time.
In my free time, me and Len love spending time with our families, friends, and fur-babies. We also love putting around our little garden and yard, going to the beach, and enjoying the beautiful days at the park playing Frisbee and other yard games. I am also trying to learn how to knit, which is proving kind of difficult for me, haha, but we shall see.
